Capital Area Kayaking is a new site for us
It was started by LAINST (Lansing Area Kayak Instruction) to help spread awareness about the kayaking community in this area. Our members are dedicated to introducing newbies to the sport. We are the instructors for several local classes.
All LAINST members belong to an organization called LAWWP (Lansing Area White Water Paddlers). LAWWP has been around for over 10 years. All paddlers and interested paddlers are welcome to join. There is no cost involved. We communicate through a yahoogroups which allows us to email all members about upcoming trips, trip reports, paddling news, etc. Join our list serve to start recieving this information and to post to our group. We would love to hear from you.
Part of our reason for creating Capital Area Kayaking is because we feel LAWWP's name sounds too restrictive for attracting new members. Many of us love sea kayaking and take many trips throughout the year. We are hoping that this website will help us link more paddlers together.
